As one of the largest independent planning practices in the region, Spawforths are experts in conceiving, designing, promoting and delivering creative solutions for a range of development issues. Our Chartered Town Planners have significant expertise in Development Plans, Development Management, Appeals and Environmental Assessment. We are currently leading more than £5 billion of development though the planning system which includes over 30,000 new homes and 17 million sq.ft. of employment and commercial space. In doing so we are working with over 70 communities.

We specialise in housing, developer, commercial, energy and retail development. Our outstanding record of success for Clients is founded upon an in depth understanding of the environment, an empathy and appreciation for people’s needs and expert knowledge of Government policy. All our Planners are fully chartered, professional and specialised in their chosen field. As well as Expert Witness services, we are specialists in Environmental Assessment and are Members of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) and also hold IEMA’s EIA Quality Mark in recognition of our approach and processes for Environmental Assessment.

Masterplanners

Our Masterplanning team focuses on people orientated environments and the strengthening of cities and urban settlements. We work collaboratively and our interdisciplinary team brings together skills in masterplanning, landscape, architecture and planning.

Architects

Employing only Chartered Architects with membership of both ARB and the RIBA, our architects not only regularly ensure that our outline planning proposals are deliverable but also deliver high quality and innovative one-off buildings. Our ethos is one of partnership and collaboration but we specialise in housing, education and health. With many award winning schemes under our belt, we work on behalf of both end users and developer clients.

Landscape Architecture

Our landscape architecture team prepare Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments for our Environmental Assessments as well as design and deliver high quality public realm schemes for many of our architectural projects.

Consultation

We have a dedicated in-house team of community consultation professionals who are familiar with the challenges and opportunities associated with trying to deliver large scale development projects within or adjacent to established communities
