Private Clients

We offer Planning & Property services to our private clients.

Planning

This includes advising & representing clients in respect of all planning related matters, including:

Site Appraisals (Development Potential), Applications & Appeals, Section 106 Obligations/Agreements, Objections to Applications & Appeals, Judicial Reviews, Enforcement/Prosecution, Certificates of Lawful Development, Advertising, Listed Buildings, Trees & High Hedges.

Property

We advise upon, & where necessary provide representation in respect of the following property matters:

Boundary Disputes & Trespass, Adverse Possession, Covenants, Easements & Rights of Way, Right to Light, Party Wall Act, Village Greens & Common Land.

Local Authorities

We offer planning advice, representation, drafting expertise & training, to local authorities. This includes:

Contract Planning, Enforcement & Legal Services, Application & Appeals, S106 Obligations/Agreements, Certificates of Lawful Development, Listed Building & TPOs, Enforcement Investigations, Drafting Planning Notices, Prosecutions, & Injunctions.

Training

We regularly train planning & enforcement officers, elected members & town & parish councillors.

External courses: Each year we offer a number of training courses, held at our Colchester offices & often also in London.

In-house: The majority of our training is carried out in house. Each course is tailored to meet the individual needs of the authority.

Conveyancers, Architects & Surveyors

Training

We provide to the above non-planning professionals, training in basic planning law & practice, & basic property law matters.

Help Line

We offer a planning help line service to assist non-planning professionals to deal with minor queries on behalf of their clients.

Fees

Our fees will be charged at our standard hourly rates, although in some cases we will be able to offer you a fixed fee. All fees are subject to VAT.
