Line Planning is an independent consultancy specialising in urban development and infrastructure planning. Our work is providing services for the business community such as developers, consultancies, architects, surveyors, charitable and local authorities.

Liz Loughran, Director is a dual qualified chartered town planner and former solicitor. She is a Member of the Law Society. She previously worked for Atkins PLC, the Mayor of London Ken Livingstone, and City London law firms. We work with specialist associates.

What we do

We are active at all stages of the development process from policy and strategy through to design, site assembly, and the processes leading to planning permission. We specialise in the provision of advice where legal issues arise because applications are contested or further advice is needed e.g. for appeals, controversial applications, agreements, heritage and environmental sensitivities and land issues. We have expertise in London planning. We instruct barristers direct if required.

We assist with strategy, negotiations and applications for development consents. Experience includes successfully assisting clients with planning appeals, public inquiries and tribunals.

Previous experience includes masterplanning and planning policy proposals,development consents, transport projects e.g.HS2(mitigation and compensation), Crossrail, Thameslink, road and airport developments.

We can prepare, coordinate and advise on:

Other project experience includes residential and mixed use development including hotels.

Clients include Camden Council, EasyHotel PLC, Century City Ltd, London developers requiring site appraisals and large objector groups. We have advised the Mayor of London and the London Assembly on planning and environmental policy.

We work flexibly to suit the client need and occasionally provide services in house.

We have offices close to Old Street station in EC2. Our associates include heritage consultants, masterplanners, civil engineers, architects, energy consultants and public affairs specialists.
