The practice embraces wide experience of commercial, industrial, office, residential and retail development with specialist expertise in a number of areas. The Directors have advised on a full range of developments on behalf of major development companies and private clients. The practice also provides full architectural services.

We have a record of obtaining planning permissions which make the best use of sites adding to the value of the area in which they are located and we believe that the challenges of securing a successful outcome in response to any commission are constant.

First, we look to establish a clear and comprehensive understanding of the brief: second, compile a detailed understanding of the context of the site, through observation and discussion with all relevant stakeholders: third, become familiar with the constraints which will influence the development including all standards and policies, budgets, time-scales and involvement with all relevant stakeholders and fourth, communication: listen and engage in order to gain as much as possible from all involved in a project.

Our portfolio of work includes the development of Master Plans for mixed residential and employment development. Housing and flat developments including schemes for affordable housing. Developments of large and small B1 offices as well as small and large B1/B8 units and retail accommodation and expert witness appearance at public inquiries.

We can also advise clients in every aspect of listed buildings and conservation considerations.

Isambard Archaeology, a subsidiary of West & Partners, undertakes the preparation and submission of desk top studies and the commissioning of more detailed investigation from specialist contractors.

Isambard Environmental, also a subsidiary, provides advice on sustainability issues and undertakes relevant assessments including SAP's BREEAM and Housing Quality Mark (HQM).
