The Planning and Placemaking "National Town Planning Consultancy of the Year 2016" and RTPI Finalist in the "Planning Consultancy of the Year 2016" category, the Stride Treglown Town Planning Team are engaged in a wide range of commissions for private, public, voluntary and government clients, across all key development sectors.

We cover national portfolio commissions and local one-off development projects from inception through to post-occupancy discharge of conditions.

The majority of our work generally falls into six key areas:

  1. Managing Planning Application Strategies - We identify key design, policy and procedural issues; coordinate major planning applications, including Environmental Impact Assessments; negotiate with local authorities; contribute towards and assess Section 106 obligation drafting, prepare and submit reserved matters submissions and discharge of planning conditions.

  2. Coordinating Masterplans - We have developed a tried and tested methodology which involves Initial Site Analysis, Strategic Options and Development of the Preferred Options stages. Our spatial strategies are coherent, in accordance with planning policies, or are otherwise justifiable, and our deliverables are prepared to inform later formal planning submissions.

  3. Planning Assessments and Land Promotion - We represent landholders' interests preparing representations to Draft Core Strategies, Site Allocations DPD’s and SPDs as part of Local Development Frameworks. We prepare Planning Appraisals to assess the key issues pertinent to a development project, identifying risks, mitigation strategies and next steps.

  4. Consultation Strategies and Stakeholder Engagement - we devise and execute communication and engagement strategies, identifying key stakeholders, seeking feedback through exhibitions, facilitated workshops, newsletters and the internet and preparing SCI’s.

  5. National Portfolio Commissions - We have prepared approximately 1,850 planning, listed building, advertisement and inclusive access applications for a major UK bank, securing a 99.3% overall success rate.

  6. Appeals and Expert Witness - We are fully conversant with appeals procedures, pursuing written representation, informal hearings and inquires.
