Geoff is a Chartered Town Planner and a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI). Having previously worked as an agent in the residential, industrial and commercial sectors, he joined Guildford Borough Council as a town planner in 1991, until moving to the private sector. While in local government he was a team leader where he dealt with the larger residential, conservation (listed buildings and conservation areas), commercial, rural and agricultural developments.
Recent experience spans a wide range of development projects including proposals for commercial and industrial (B1, B2 and B8) development, housing proposals and regeneration projects within urban and rural areas. Geoff has undertaken a number of planning appeals, including informal hearings, public inquiries and written representation cases throughout the south east.

The practice was originally established in 1998 to give high quality advice on a broad range of property development matters. The consultancy specialises in planning applications, conservation area applications, listed building consents, environmental impact assessment, planning appeals and planning enforcement matters in both the private and public sectors. We provide advice upon large scale planning applications, including environmental impact assessments, to the small scale householder planning applications. The practice covers all areas of the country with specialist knowledge of the South, South East and London regions. Recent instructions include planning applications and planning appeals in Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Dorset, Kent and London.
Geoff Douglass, the founder of Pelham Planning Associates Ltd, is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute with 30 years’ experience of working within the public and private sector. He joined Guildford Borough Council as a town planner in 1991 having previously worked as an estate agent in the residential, industrial and commercial sectors and as a surveyor in local authority housing. During his time in local government he worked as a team leader where he dealt with the larger residential, conservation (listed buildings and conservation areas), commercial, rural and agricultural developments.
Over the course of many years, Geoff has forged good relationships with a number of Architects and other related professionals/specialists with whom he works closely on a regular basis and on a number of varied projects.
