Peter Kyte has built up a planning practice (now called Enabling Projects) over a twenty five year period. It now has a broad and extensive experience in development schemes at all stages of the planning process. The Enabling Projects practice undertakes planning feasibilities, submission and negotiation of planning applications and planning appeals including expert witnessing at public inquiries. He has latterly expanded his core expertise by being a Development Director for a large property investment company and by working for two London Boroughs undertaking senior level planning appeals work.
A fundamental part of the success of Peter's practice has been the giving of positive advice on design and layout of schemes. His practice's integrated design-planning-value approach has seen many successes on difficult, marginal and complex schemes. Since 2001, the extensive experience in individual project management has broadened to include the strategic management of a large pipeline of projects. ENABLING PROJECTS is a London based Planning Consultancy that promotes and progresses projects to planning permission stage, encompassing home, work and leisure uses and building schemes. We help to answer questions for clients like: How to lodge a planning application and how to best obtain planning permission? The company progresses development projects focused on London and the SE and is involved in sustainable development issues and community participation, as well as a broad range of planning and lawfulness matters.
Work includes site feasibility studies, planning applications, planning submissions & negotiations, problem schemes, planning appeals (including public inquiries and informal hearings), planning statements, plus planning enforcement and lawfulness applications and appeals.
Core skills include securing consents for schemes by proactive and assertive negotiation, wider consultant instructions and coordination, negotiation of conditions on planning permissions, agreeing section 106 obligations and CIL payments, management of projects within defined timescales and overseeing lawfulness submissions.
One of our main roles is to get problem schemes back on track. Many projects fall into serious problems, with the Council issuing a refusal or threatening to do so. In these situations it is our role to positively advise, amend the scheme and then re-negotiate and re-submit the project.
