Dalton Warner Davis LLP (DWD) is a leading planning and surveying practice that for over 30 years has provided specialist property and consenting advice to a diverse and impressive range of clients, including landowners, developers, infrastructure providers and public sector bodies.

We work across the UK, supporting projects from the feasibility stage, through site assembly and the planning and consenting regimes to implementation. We have expertise in a large number of sectors, including education, health care, housing, industry and warehousing, infrastructure, leisure, offices and town centre and large format retail. We also have significant experience of mixed use development and regeneration schemes.

We are adept at working with the constantly evolving nature and increasing complexity of property, planning and environmental legislation. We recognise the importance of providing our clients with clear, up-to-date, commercially astute advice. In doing so, we seek to limit their exposure to costs and risk while maximising the potential for them to realise their development aspiration and unlock value.

Our services include:

• Due diligence. • Site identification and feasibility. • Promotion of sites through the development plan process. • Acquisition and disposal. • Compulsory purchase and site assembly. • Business rates. • Landlord and tenant. • Valuation and compensation. • Advice on consultation and stakeholder strategies. • Advice on permitted development rights and prior approval applications. • Pre-application consultation and negotiations. • Environmental impact assessment screening and scoping and input to and review of environmental statements. • Co-ordination and preparation of development consent order, section 36 variation, planning, listed building and conservation area consent and hazardous substance consent applications. • Preparation of reports and assessments, including planning and design and statements and heritage and retail impact assessments. • Negotiations with landowners, local authorities and statutory consultees. • Advice on planning conditions, S.106 planning obligations and Community Infrastructure Levy liability. • Representation and expert witness work at hearings, public inquiries and the Lands Tribunal.

The majority of professional staff are members of the RTPI and/or RICS. The Practice is a limited liability partnership (registered in England No. OC304838) and operates an ISO 9001 certified quality management system.
