Central MW Planning is a sole trader consultancy specialising in all Planning matters relating to Minerals and Waste projects.

Based on more than 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors the Principal, Richard Hunt, is able to offer cost-effective advice and assistance on sites used or intended to be used for aggregates, coal, potash, oil, silica sand, gypsum, limestone and clay. This includes planning applications,discharge of conditions and representation in enforcement action.

Richard is a Chartered Town Planner and Associate Member of the Mineral Products Association who has delivered many successful applications including those accompanied by Environmental Statements. Until recently he was the Head of Planning for York Potash Ltd which received its' offshore licences for mineral extraction (500 square kilometres)and the cross-border minerals applications that will allow the development of the UK's first deep mine since Selby. Having raised their first tranche of money the development will commence in 2017.

Recent projects

Recent completed projects include the extension of life of a tipping facility and advice given to a client facing enforcement action and closure of their facility. Both reached a satisfactory conclusion for the clients.

Ongoing projects

Ongoing projects include an extension of life of a major sand and gravel quarry and an appeal against non-determination of an opencast coal application.
