Mrs Carolyn Apcar BA (Hons) MRTPI  [ E-mail ]

Carolyn has some 25 years experience as a town planner. Following 5 years working in local government, in both Local Plans and Development Control sections, she moved into consultancy work in 1986. She was employed as an Associate at Anthony Bowhill and Associates prior to establishing Apcar Smith Planning in 1993. The practice is involved in a wide range of residential and commercial developments of all scales, primarily, although not solely, in and around the Greater London area. Clients range from private individuals to major PLC's. Carolyn has many years experience of all aspects of planning work including instructing Counsel and giving evidence at public inquiries.

Background and Experience

Qualified in 1982 Carolyn spent the first 5 years of her career in local government before moving into private practice. She was an Associate with one of the larger city based practices before establishing Apcar Smith Planning in 1993. She has extensive experience of residential & commercial developments in urban and rural areas.

Initial advice and appraisals on development potential; planning applications and negotiations with local planning authorities; development briefs; written representation appeals; informal hearing appeals; expert evidence at public inquiries, EIP's and local plan inquiries; advice on enforcement notices and enforcement notice appeals; instruction of barristers for planning matters; and third party representations.
