AB Planning & Development Limited

Andrew Bateson is the proprietor of AB Planning and Development Limited - an independent planning consultancy based in Witney, Oxfordshire, which he established at the start of 2011. Andrew holds a BSc Honours degree in Town and Regional Planning from Dundee University, is a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and a member of the Federation of Small Businesses.

Throughout the last thirty-one years, Andrew has been regularly instructed as an expert witness at Inquiries and Hearings, as well as undertaking numerous Written Representation appeals. In the last decade, instructions have come from developers such as Banner Homes, Bovis Homes, Cala Homes, Cass Properties, JR Baughan Ltd, London Property and the Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust. Andrew has also represented the Whipps Cross University Hospital and Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trusts in London and at Hexham, Kent County Council’s Property Services Division, legal firms such as Beachcroft and Hill Dickinson LLP, Hampton’s International, the Brethren Gospel Hall Trusts, Parklake Hotels, Salmon Racing, Sweet Fuels and numerous private landowners.

The Company undertakes planning appraisals, prepares Planning Support and Design & Access Statements, provides plan designs for development proposals, submits planning applications, provides expert planning services for appeals and makes Development Plan and Neighbourhood Plan promotions/representations.

The Company is instructed by Cala Homes on residential projects in Sussex, Surrey and Essex; Cass Properties and JR Baughan Limited on residential projects in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire; and by a wide variety of private landowners, mainly across Oxfordshire, Sussex Buckinghamshire.

Development designs are often prepared in house by AB Planning & Development but where clients have preferred architects they wish to employ, we are willing to work cooperatively alongside such practices. The Company also has surveying, legal, arboricultural, ecological, heritage and transport contacts from whom we can request assistance, when projects demand such services.

The office is well located in relation to the national transport network, so Bristol to the west, London to the east, the south coast towns, the Midlands and even parts of the north are all easily accessible within up to two hours.
