Cassidy + Ashton Planning is a town planning and environmental consultancy based in Preston and Chester. It forms part of the well respected and long established Cassidy & Ashton Group of architects and building surveyors and offers specialist consultancy advice in the fields of town planning, masterplanning and environmental assessment.
The Practice has extensive experience of the full range of town planning and environmental issues that prevail in today's economic climate. Accordingly, the Practice is able to offer a service that meets the needs of developers, landowners, companies and private individuals whilst respecting and taking account of planning policy, the environment and sustainable development. The Practice also has specialist knowledge of rural issues and is the Planning Panel Adviser in the North West for the National Farmers Union.
The Practice is able to advise on all matters relating to town planning, masterplanning and environmental issues. In particular the Practice has built up specialist skills in environmental assessment, environmental appraisal, sustainability appraisal and rural planning together with the other services typically provided by town planning consultants including planning applications and appeals, development plan advice, site appraisals, retail impact assessment and planning research.
The Practice offers a wide range of experience in planning and environmental matters. This includes an application for a 2,000 dwelling sustainable urban extension, the environmental assessment of the Central Lancashire Business Park; acting as planning consultants for a major mixed use development in Preston city centre; development, planning and environmental advice in relation to the conversion and development of a listed building in a historic park and garden within the green belt; the retail impact assessment of a major retail and leisure facility in East Lancashire, a sustainability appraisal on MoD land and housing development at a Lancashire rugby club. Other experience includes the environmental assessment of major strategic developments, appearance at public inquiries and the preparation of expert witness statements. The Practice has also built up a wealth of experience in relation to rural planning issues and farm diversification, including wind farm development.
