Tom Hardie, BSc Hons, Dip URP, MRTPI
has over 35 years experience in Town and Country planning, including 17 years with the Scottish Executive, 10 years specifically on rural planning and was the lead author of both NPPG 15 (1999) and SPP15 published February 2005. He spent 8 years working with local authorities on development planning and 15 months with a private sector planning consultancy before becoming a freelance consultant in January 2006. Tom spent a year in Brussels working for the European Commission and has a good knowledge of European legislation and policy on planning and the environment. He also worked part-time as a Senior Lecturer in Rural Planning and Energy Futures at the University of Aberdeen.
Hardie Planning Consultancy operates throughout UK, with particular emphasis on Scotland, and can pull together like-minded experts to form skilled project teams. Tom has good experience of project management and working in multi-disciplinary teams.
