Town Planning has formed an integral element in the services offered by Scott Brownrigg since 1984. As part of an integrated design practice, the specialist town planning team are in a unique position, possessing an understanding and knowledge of the working practices of different disciplines - architecture, masterplanning, urban design and interior design.

In 2011, the team won the RTPI Small Consultancy of the Year award, which recognises exemplary practice. The judges noted that: ‘robust procedures and professional judgement ensure high standards of advice to clients. Scott Brownrigg Planning show innovation in community engagement, considering a range of communities and undertaking education on the planning policies’.

Offering the full spectrum of town planning services, they provide leading edge planning expertise across major sectors. They have worked on some of the largest residential schemes in London and the South East, including Chelsea Bridge Wharf (1,126) units), Whitelands College (400 units), Brunel University (450 units) and Farnham East Street (294 units). Negotiations with Local Planning Authorities, the GLA and housing associations on these schemes has resulted in the delivery of new housing and affordable housing.

They have specific expertise in the City of London, headed up by the City Corporation’s former Policy Director. This provides a unique insight into the policy, politics and opportunities in the City.

Scott Brownrigg's value stems from advising on strategic planning issues, to guiding the overall delivery strategy for a scheme, together with detailed knowledge of development planning which ensures planning applications are prepared, submitted and negotiated efficiently and effectively.
