Background and Experience

Qualified in 1982 Carolyn spent the first 5 years of her career in local government before moving into private practice. She was an Associate with one of the larger city based practices before establishing Apcar Smith Planning in 1993. She has extensive experience of residential & commercial developments in urban and rural areas.

Initial advice and appraisals on development potential; planning applications and negotiations with local planning authorities; development briefs; written representation appeals; informal hearing appeals; expert evidence at public inquiries, EIP's and local plan inquiries; advice on enforcement notices and enforcement notice appeals; instruction of barristers for planning matters; and third party representations.
