Dowd Town Planning is a professional town planning consultancy based in Cheshire and South Manchester. We offer a reliable and confidential town planning service to business clients, local authorities and the wider public, from initial site assessment, through to managing the planning applications and appeals processes. Work is undertaken either directly, on behalf of private clients, or indirectly, on a freelance basis, acting on behalf of professional clients such as architectural and surveying practices and building firms. The practice is staffed by 5 professional town planners including 3 chartered members of the Royal Town Planning Institute, who have extensive professional planning experience in local government, both in development control and forward planning. This means that we also have the expertise to offer a consultant planning service to local authorities, either in assessing and making recommendations in respect of planning applications, representing councils in the appeals processes or undertaking work on local development frameworks.
We operate throughout the UK, but particularly in the North West and East Midlands of England. We have established contacts with other development professionals such as forestry and historic buildings consultants, architects, surveyors, ecologists, landscape architects and highway engineers and can instruct solicitors and barristers as appropriate. This means that we are able to offer a comprehensive planning service, which avoids the need for our clients to separately instruct several different professional firms.
From the first instructions, through team assembly, to the project management of every aspect of the site appraisal or development proposal, clients can expect to receive regular progress reports and to have their interests represented to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
