The Practice was formed in 1990, and was incorporated in 1995. In 1998 it changed its name to Acanthus Holden. Acanthus Holden can provide both architectural and planning services for projects, a desirable combination to many clients.
Acanthus Holden is well known throughout West Wales for its commitment to design through the conservation and creative re-use of redundant buildings as well as the design and integration of new buildings in sensitive environments. The Practice has also designed a number of important sustainable buildings and provided Development Control services. Through offering both planning and architectural services, Acanthus Holden has the ability to consider not only the design and immediate setting of any building, but also its impact on the wider environment.
The Practice is the Welsh representative of Acanthus Associated Practices Limited: a national group of firms committed to excellence in Architecture and the Conservation of the Environment. Linda Jones, director is a chartered planner and architect, Peter Holden, director, is a conservation architect and project manager.
Mae'r Practis yn falch o'i wreiddiau Cymreig ac hybu'r defnydd o'r iath ar bob cyfle.
In February 1992, Acanthus Holden moved into new premises converted from redundant workshops on the Mill Pond in Pembroke. The two storey offices were runners up in the Green Building of the Year Award in 1993.
