The Planning team provides sound, commercially based planning advice to landowners, developers, institutional investors, housebuilders, occupiers and the public sector.

Our team objective is simple – to safeguard and maximise the potential of our client’s property assets. We achieve this by adopting a proactive approach to pre-empting and resolving planning and development issues, with a focus on adding value both in financial terms and by the way we deliver our services.

Working as a national team with over 20 fee earners, we have established teams in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds and Manchester.

All members of our team have a sound understanding of planning law and procedure which is combined with detailed commercial knowledge of the markets in which we operate. As a result we offer a professional service, designed to create value, minimise uncertainty, prevent delays and enhance commercial viability and delivery.

At Colliers International, the planning team is integrated with Development Consultancy and Locum, a subsidiary who are the UK's leading destination specialists. The combined offer facilitates major regeneration and repositioning projects in the UK and abroad.

Our instructions are varied and include large-scale strategic projects such as major mixed use schemes, complex town centre developments, housing, and leisure proposals. Retail projects are particularly diverse. We have specialist experience in recreational property e.g. caravan and camping sites, and in energy including wind farms. Working with corporate clients, we can deal with planning issues across a whole real estate portfolio, however complex.
