MUIR SMITH EVANS was established in 2004. It is a niche consultancy, offering senior expertise with an extensive breadth and depth of experience. Our focus is the provision of commercially-aware planning advice.

We specialise in advising on large-scale, complex, and sensitive projects. We bring exceptional experience, expertise and insight to all our projects. We use our talent for strategic thinking to deliver projects which produce real value for both client and community.

The three partners, Brian Muir, Adrian Smith and Robert Evans, have personally advised on, and co-ordinated the planning process for, some of Scotland's largest and most complex commercial development projects as well as investment and regeneration projects of importance to smaller communities.

The partners have over 85 years of collective experience and cover the full range of town planning services in Scotland. Our key strength is that we provide clear, no nonsense advice to clients and devise clear strategies for delivering consents and allocations .

We have complementary skills and expertise as well as in-depth knowledge in our core disciplines.

We are all experienced expert witnesses and cover the full range of development sectors. We act as facillitators to resolve disputes and conflict. We deal directly with senior officials in planning authorities and Government and understand the ideas and forces which are shaping the development of policy in Scotland.
